Mr. Jewell Bond Jackson, Jr., 59, of Menifee, Arkansas departed this life on August 31, 2015. He was born to Ernestine Jackson and the late Jewell Bond Jackson, Sr. in Morrilton, Arkansas on June 19, 1956.

He was a resident of Russellville, Arkansas for many years, where he served as the first black alderman and he was a member of the City Council in Menifee, Arkansas for a number of years. Jewell was employed with AP&L, the Mayflower School District and Waste Management.

Survivors include his loving wife, Shawna Renee Jackson; children, Marcus and Melody Jackson; mother Ernestine Jackson; two sisters, Brenda Sweat Martin and Chandra Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 11, 2015 at Pleasant Hill #2 Missionary Baptist Church in Kenwood, Arkansas (Hwy 64). The Rev. Luke Hawkins will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
