Arnold A. Felten, 77, of Rose Creek, died Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015, at Homestead Hospice in Owatonna, less than a month after being diagnosed with pancreatic and liver cancer.

Arnie was born April 24, 1938, in Nevada Township near Rose Creek, to John B. and Elizabeth (Wagner) Felten. He graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1956, and in 1958 he started a 35-year career at IBM in Rochester. On Nov. 16, 1968, he married Linda Ann Michels at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek.

Arnie was a lifelong member of St. Peter's Church and was active in many roles in the parish, including serving as a trustee and usher. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on his farm, playing cards and following sports.

In addition to his wife, Linda, he is survived by four children: Scott (Erin) of Austin, Julie (Dalen) Maxson of Mantorville, Andrew of Rose Creek, and Brian (Melissa) of Owatonna; six grandchildren: Olivia and Matthew of Austin, Liberty, Ashlyn, and Brooklyn of Mantorville, and Edward of Owatonna; two brothers: LaVerne (Jane) of Austin and John F. (Barb) of Rose Creek; sister: Dolores Campbell of DePere, WI; and mother-in-law: Marita Michels of Adams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Rosella Gerber, brothers, Harold and Edward, and father-in-law, Wilmer "Bud" Michels.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Rose Creek, with Father Swaminatha Pothireddy officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2015, at Mayer Funeral Home in Austin and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will be at St. Peter's Cemetery, Rose Creek.
