Charles W. Austin, 64, of Rossville, died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4, in St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, due to complications of open heart surgery. He had been ill since Oct. 25.

Mr. Austin farmed most of his life.

Born March 18, 1931, in Clinton County, near Sedalia, he graduated from Rossville High School in 1949 and lived on the family farm from September 1965 until 1995. He had lived in Rossville since March.

He married Leora A. Wagoner on Dec. 9, 1956, in North Manchester, and she survives.

Mr. Austin was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church.

Surviving with his wife are a son, Clyde W. Austin of rural Frankfort; four daughters, Mrs. David (Shirley) Reavis of Silver Lake, Mrs. Darrell (Betty) Rinehart of rural Rossville, Mrs. Chris (Millie) Kinzie of rural Frankfort and Mrs. John (Myrna) Peters of Rocky Mount, Va.; a brother, Harold Austin of Modesto, Calif.; and a sister, Mrs. Paul (Thelma) Reavis of Rossville.

Visitation and the funeral was at the Middlefork Old German Baptist Church southwest of Rossville, IN. Burial was in the church cemetery.
