Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro

Mr. Wayne R. Lowe, age 88 of Jonesboro, died Tuesday morning at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Lowe was a native of Quitman , Louisiana and a member of Siloam Springs Community Church. He was a licensed funeral director and had worked many years at Ardoin Funeral Homes headquartered in Kinder, Louisiana before relocating back to the Jonesboro area where he worked for Edmonds Funeral Home. He and his wife then bought Southern Flower Shop and he also worked part-time at Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro. Mr. Lowe was a loving and kind husband, father & grandfather who loved people and was always glad to help anyone in need.

Friends may visit with the family 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Southern Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday at Siloam Springs Community Church, near Wyatt, with Reverend Wayne Morrow and Reverend Peyton Bass officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Jonesboro.

Mr. Lowe is survived by his wife Bonnie Holsomback Lowe of Jonesboro; son, Larry Lowe of Jonesboro; daughters, Debbie Gates and husband Douglas Curtis of Weston, Tina Lowe Merritt and husband Raymond of Athens; 7 Grandchildren; 9 Great Grandchildren; brothers, Royce Lowe and wife Etta of Star City, Troy Lowe and wife Patsy of Ruston; sister, Lurlene Farmer of Ruston; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Vennie; brothers, Owen, Waylon & James.

Pallbearers will be Reese Ellard, Danny Gates, DeWayne Gates, Shane Peters, David Savage.
