Born Dec. 16, 1927, in Stone County, she was the daughter of John and Minnie Carter York. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Billie Joe Gardner; two brothers, John York of St. Louis and Aaron York of Stone County; a sister, Suzie Mendenz of California; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Willie York, Pete York, Asbury York and Adler York; two sisters, May Gray and Artie Peel; and a son, Johnny Asbury Reeves.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at York Cemetery in Stone County with Kenneth Altom officiating. Arrangements are by Willis-Hays Funeral Service of Batesville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 tonight.
