Dennis William Dearing, 68, of Forest, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital. Born on September 16, 1946 in Lynchburg, he was the son of the late William and Mary Dearing.Dennis enjoyed fishing at the Outer Banks.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary Keith Dearing.mLeft to cherish his memory is the love of his life, Carol Owen; his adopted children, Christie Rider and husband, Randy, and Tracy McCraw and husband, Doug; his grandchildren, Tiffany Moore, Chelsey Crickenberger, and Robert Keith Rider; great- grandchildren, Adalyn and Coltyn Moore; and sisters, Sharon Cyrus and husband, Edward, of Las Vegas, and Pat Johnson and husband, Henry, of Lynchburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Whitten Timberlake Chapel with Pastor John Sines Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service starting at 10 a.m. and at other times at Dennis and Carol's residence.For those wishing to make memorial contributions, the family would like you to consider the American Lung Association, 3512 Brambleton Ave., Suite 3, Roanoke, VA 24018.Whitten Timberlake Chapel is assisting the family (239-0331).
