Lady Anne Stanley was one of the possible heirs to the English throne upon the death of Elizabeth I of England. She was the eldest daughter and heir of Ferdinando Stanley, 5th Earl of Derby and Alice Spencer.

Her paternal grandparents were Henry Stanley, 4th Earl of Derby and Lady Margaret Clifford. Margaret was a daughter of Henry Clifford, 2nd Earl of Cumberland and Lady Eleanor Brandon. Eleanor was herself the youngest daughter of Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk and Mary Tudor.

Anne Stanley married, firstly, Grey Brydges, 5th Baron Chandos of Sudeley on February 28, 1607/8. She married, secondly, Sir Mervyn Tuchet, 2nd Earl of Castlehaven, on July 22, 1624 at Harefield, thus becoming Countess of Castlehaven. She bore a child by one of Tuchet's manservants and sexual companions. However, her accusation that he was an accomplice to her rape by one of the servants ultimately brought about his execution.

She died at Ruislip, and was buried on October 11, 1647.
