British Royalty. Roman born Charles Edward Stuart, whom history recalls as "Bonnie Prince Charlie" or "The Young Pretender", was the son of James Francis Edward Stuart, himself known as "The Old Pretender". His brother Henry Benedict Stuart, was the Dean of the College of Cardinals and Cardinal Bishop of the Suburbicarian See of Ostia and Velletri. Recalled as the mastermind of the Jacobite uprising of 1745 in attempt to restore him family to the throne of Great Britain, he spent his last years in Rome, passing away at the Palazzo Muti in Piazza dei Santi Apostoli, which saw his birth sixty seven years earlier. Originally buried inside Frascati's Cathedral of Saint Peter the Apostle, where his brother was then bishop, when his body was transferred to Saint Peter's Patriarchal Vatican Basilica, his heart and praecordia were left there in a small urn, beneath the floor below the funerary monument erected inside the cathedral in his memory. This is his original burial place, heart and praecordia only.
