Hazel Grace York Cox, age 79, died Monday, October 3, 1994 at the St. George Care Center.

She was born January 1, 1915 in Dillon, Montana, a daughter of William Wallace and Violet Janet Campbell York. She married George Prior Cox July 2, 1947 in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death August 10, 1973. Grace attended school in Pocatello, Idaho, graduating from the Pocatello High School. She worked at the local theater and at the Kress Store before working for Montgomery Ward. With them, she transferred to Salt Lake City. She later worked for the Railroad in the PFE division, where she met and married George. Grace later worked for Hogle Investment and retired from the Holy Cross Hospital in the Medical Records Dept. She came to St. George in 1991.

Survived by three sisters, Marjorie Watson, of Maricopa, Arizona; Dolores (Mrs. H.B. "Bus") Howard, of St. George, Utah; Dorothy Jean Queen, of Anchorage, Alaska; two stepchildren, Sally Easton and William Cox, both of Denver, Colorado; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, 1994, 1 p.m. at the Larkin Mortuary Chapel, 260 East So. Temple, where friends may call Friday evening from 7-8 p.m. and one hour prior to services. Interment, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, under the direction of Spilsbury-Desert Rose Mortuary in St. George.
