Larry Edward "Butch" Key, 66, of Calhoun, passed away on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at his residence.

He was a native and lifelong resident of McMinn County.

A son of the late Francis Theodore Key Sr. and Annabelle Cobb Key, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Ann Liner Key.

He retired from Bowater after 38 years of service and attended First Baptist Church of Calhoun. He was a member of Chestuee Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the U.S. Air Force, and was a member of VFW Post 5146. He was an avid golfer.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Crye Key of Calhoun; two daughters, Stephanie Howard of Calhoun and Brandy Key of Calhoun; two stepdaughters, Carmin Chastain of Cleveland, and Brandi Owenby of Cleveland; five grandchildren, Miranda Bostic, Tiffanie Howard, Briana Clark, Brandon Clark and SaraBeth Clark; five step-grandchildren, Parker Chastain, Avery Chastain, Damon Owenby, Aspen Owenby, and Jase Owenby; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Ted and Joan Key of Riceville, and Bill Key of Riceville; special aunt, Mary Eidson of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Kevin Cheatham officiating.

Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Riceville Cemetery with military honors.

Active pallbearers will be Brandon Clark, Jackson Cavett, Bobby Chastain, Nick Owenby, Charlie Allen, and Jimmy Morrow.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
