Thomas was the son of Jacob French & Susan Warren.

Thomas French, Sr., was christened 11 Oct 1584 at Bures St. Mary, Suffolk County, a
son of Jacob, moved to Assington ca. 1585/86, m. Susan Riddlesdale 5 Sep 1608 in
Assington. Susan was b. 20 Apr 1584 at Boxford, Suffolk Co., England, daughter of John Riddlesdale and his wife, Dorcas.

Thomas's occupation is listed as Tailor. He arrived in Salem, Essex, Massachusetts on June 13, 1630.
