Juanita Belle Parr Reeves was cradled in the arms of her heavenly father Sunday September 6, 2015. Several months preceding her passage, she worked with her typical tenacity to overcome illness and injury. Juanita was at peace with her life, feeling she had accomplished her tasks. Her last wishes were to be remembered in love and in joy.

Juanita was born on November 4, 1928 in Ringgold, Montague County, Texas to Walter Alonzo and Ruby Velma (Albritton) Parr. She was a member of the graduating Class of 1945 of Ringgold High School. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma, School of Nursing, Norman, Oklahoma, in 1950. On July 2, 1949, Juanita married Billy Ray Reeves in Pampa, Texas. She raised her family in Midland, Texas. Juanita was a Registered Nurse for 40 years having worked in Pampa, Denton, and Midland. Her passion in nursing was orthopedics and rehabilitation, although she worked in many areas. She believed in the caring art of bedside nursing.

After retiring, Juanita became a busy lady! Juanita loved children, seeking to guide them to feel loved as they learned life. She volunteered at DISD Hodge Elementary in Pre-K with what started as a 2 week commitment turned into 15 years of devotion to the wee ones. She jumped in as a Cub Scout pack leader when there was a need. She has received accolades and honors for her selfless giving, but that was never a motivation. She taught Sunday school and organized vacation bible schools at Gribble Springs Baptist Church. Her greatest joys were family, children, and God.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Billy R. Reeves and brother, Wayne Parr. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jesse E. Reeves, II and his wife, Virginia of Fort Myers, FL, daughter, Doris M. (Reeves) McCunn and husband, H. Jack of Denton, two brothers, Roy Parr and B. B. Reeves both of Pampa, five grandchildren: Jesse E. Reeves, III of Maryland, Bridget M. Reeves of Iowa, Theresa A. (Reeves) Pomerleau and husband James of Illinois, James J. Reeves of Florida, and Shiloh M. Reeves and Fiancé, Leslie Moore of Lewisville, TX, and great-granddaughter, Pamela L. Pomerleau in Illinois.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Gribble Springs Cemetery in Gribble Springs, Texas. Rev. Sam Redfearn will officiate the services. The cemetery is behind the church which is located at 6909 FM 2164, just north of Denton. There will be visitation before and after the service inside the church briefly.

Juanita requested donations in her honor to go to your charities, she believed in helping locally. She did not want flowers, but she was only trying to be frugal…...We love flowers! She requested casual dress at the services.
