Funeral services for Ruth A.
Austin, 92, of Rossville, were Monday
at 10 a.m. at the Middlefork
Old German Baptist Church with
Home Brethren officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.
She died at 7:10 p.m. Thursday,
April 9, 1981, at the Milner Community
Health Center, Rossville.
She had been ill several years.
Born Aug. 22, 1888, in Jasper
County, she was the daughter of
Levi and Emma Hurley Miller. She
was married Dec. 24, 1910, to Alpha
C. Austin, who died Jan. 26, 1979.
She had resided in the Rossville
community for 60 years and was a
member of the Middlefork Old German
Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Wayne
Austin of Rt. 5, Monticello; two
daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Orpha)
Berry of Homestead, Fla., and Mrs.
Kenneth (Lois) Wolf of Rt. 1,
Rossville; one sister, Maggie Rogers
of Covington, Ohio; three brothers,
Abe Miller of Flora and Russell and
Homer Miller, both of Rossville; six
grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
Brown Funeral Home, Rossville,
was in charge of arrangements.
