Alpha C. Austin, 90, a retired farmer
died Fri., Jan. 26, 1979, at the
Brethren’s Home at Flora. He had been
ill three and one-half years.
Born at Jasper County, he was the
son of Sylvester A. and Amanda Root
Austin, He resided in Cerro Gardo, Ill.,
11 years before moving to Rossville. In
1910 he was married to Ruth Miller.
Surviving with the widow are a son,
Wayne Austin, Rt. 5, Lafayette; two
daughters, Mrs. Orpha Beery of
Homestead, Fla., and Mrs. Lois Wolf of
Rt. l, Rossville; six grandchildren and
18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were Sunday at
Middlefork Old German Baptist Church
with Home Brethren officiating. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
