Mr. Breighner was the son of the late Frank A. and Mary Ellen (Darr) Breighner.
He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, a lifetime member of the Gettysburg Fire Department, a member of the Adams County Volunteer Firemen's Association, Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association and the Gettysburg Fire Department's Veteran Fireman Association. He also was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles #162.
Mr. Breighner worked for the former Reaser Furniture Co. for 21 years, Hartzell's Esso Station in Gettysburg for 12 years and retired from Gettysburg College after many years of service in 1973.
Survivors include his wife of 77 years, Margaret Helen (Millhimes) Breighner; a daughter, Patsy A. DeHaas of Gettysburg; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandhildren; and six great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Ray K. Breighner and Ivan I. Breighner, Jr.; a sister, Edna Breighner Watt; and brothers Roy, Lloyd, William and Ralph Breighner.
