Edwin H. Mulford, 90, member of one of Schuyler county's best known families, and son of the late Brig. Gen. John E. Mulford, of the Union Army in the Civil War, died Thursday evening, Aug. 23, at his home on College avenue, Montour Falls. The funeral was private Saturday afternoon at the home, the Rev. Gardner Bridges, of St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Burial in the family lot, Montour cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Kate S. Mulford, a son, Elmer S. Mulford, and daughter, Mrs. Gertrude M. Churchill, both of Little Falls, N. Y., seven grandchildren: Edwin H. Mulford 2nd, in the Medical Corps; John Elmer Mulford, Lieutenant in the Air Corps, William R. Mulford of Little Falls; Mrs. Janet H. Mryce with the American Red Cross in England; Robert S. Woodbridge in California; Mulford Woodbridge with the U.S. Army
Ordnance, and a granddaughter Linda Woodbridge. Mr. Mulford was a communicant of the Episcopal church and a life member of Myrtle Lodge, F & A M. He was educated at Pennsylvania Military Academy, Chester, Pa. In 1873, with his father, General Mulford, he organized the Prentiss Vise Co. in Montour Falls. Later the concern moved its headquarters to New York city. About 16 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Mulford returned to Montour Falls to live. The Mulford home, with its towering flagpole, is one of the show places of Montour Falls.
