George was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on February 25, 1948. He had 2 older brothers. At some point in the boys young years, they relocated to Southwest Florida, living in Fort Myers and Naples. George attended Naples High School where he was active in school activities.
He enlisted in the Marines in 1966. The date of his service in Vietnam began is unknown, but on March 16, 1967, he gave his life for his country while serving with 1st Platoon of Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division.
Survived by his mother, Shirley Johnson and his 2 brothers, Donald R Johnson and (other brother) name unknown of Naples, FL.
His father, Budd E Johnson was deceased.
