Garth (Tiny) Van Campen, 87, of Salt Lake City, Utah passed away March 1, 1999.

Garth was born April 22, 1911 in Cheyenne, Wyoming to Maitland and Nellie Postin Van Campen. He married Irene Nelson in Salt Lake City. Irene preceded Garth in death in 1987.

Garth retired from 3M Corporation in 1975. He played at the Coon Chicken Inn with his own band "Tiny and His City Stinkers" during World War II. He was a 32 Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and the York Rite Bodies; Member of El Kalah Temple of the Shrine, El Kalah and and Acacia Lodge #17F&AAM. Garth was a lifetime member of Elks Lodge 2277 and Fraternal Order of Eagles #67.

Surivived by sons and daughters, Joyce Higbee, Dennis (Janice) Van Campen, Diane (Andy) Visser, Michael (Chris) Nelson; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 4, 1999 at 12 noon at Evans and Early Mortuary, 574 East First South. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7-8 p.m. at Evans and Early Mortuary and one hour prior to services. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.
