Madge Charlotte Aleshire was born on February 26, 1919 in Little Elk Township of Todd County to Guy and Pearl (Harden) Aleshire. She lived with her parents near Lake Beauty. She passed away on June 15, 2004 at the Central Todd County Care Center in Clarissa at the age of 85. Madge went to school in Swanville and graduated in 1940. She went to nursing school in Lincoln, Nebraska. She moved back home to take care of her mother. She later worked in Long Prairie as a practical nurse. Madge never married. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing and doing puzzles. She has lived at the Care Center since 1978.

She was preceded in death by her parents Guy and Pearl Aleshire; sisters Harvena Troolin and Margie Harnack; and brothers Vernon and Richard.

She is survived by her brother Walter Aleshire of Federal Heights, Colorado; brother-in-law Lawrence Harnack of Eagle Bend; sisters-in-law Iona and Irene Aleshire; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her "second family", the residents and staff at the care center.

Services were held at the Care Center Chapel in Clarissa with Pastor John Morrison presiding on Thursday, June 17, 2004. Pallbearers are David, Daisy and Loren Harnack, Devona and Justin Hlatky and Gordon Bartels. Interment is in the Bearhead Cemetery in Pillsbury, Minnesota.
