A retired farmer of New Windsor, Carroll County, Maryland, Hugh was born in Senia, North Carolina. He was a son of the late Robert and Emma Pritchard Burleson. Survivors at this time we re; his wife, Mrs. Beatrice Billings Burleson; five daughters--Mrs. Dixie Rodgers of Baldwin , Maryland; Mrs. Ruby Preston of Baltimore, Maryland; Mrs. Roxie Brady of Baldwin, Maryland; Mrs. Lucy Alderman of Westminster, Maryland; Mrs. Linda Howe of Plant City, Florida; one son, Robert F. Burleson of Hagerstown, Maryland; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Joda Buchanan of Newland, North Carolina. He was a member of the Roaring Creek Free Will Baptist Church of Newland, North Carolina. Funeral services were held Monday, June 28 , 1976 at 10 a.m. at the New Windsor Funeral Home of D. D. Hartzler. Dr. Donald Brown, direct or of Missions of the Southern Baptist area, officiated. Church Affiliation: Roaring Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Interment: June 28, 1976, Garden of Faith Cemetery, Baltimore County, MD
