He was born in Screven County, GA, and was preceded in death by his former wife, Mary Elizabeth Prouse Bazemore.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the US Navy, and was retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers, having served as a supervisor in the Structural Maintenance Division. He was a Charter Member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, and currently a member of Savannah Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Parrott Bazemore, of Savannah, GA; son, Lewis L. Bazemore, II; two daughters, Donna Marie and Debbie Ann Bazemore; a stepdaughter, Donna Bouchillon, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the Fairhaven Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of the Fairhaven Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Jobe officiating. Interment: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
