BLACKSHEAR ‹ Archie Brantley Allen, 52, died early Sunday morning (Aug. 6, 2006) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.

A native and life-long resident of Pierce County, he was a self-employed truck driver working for Thom's Transport.

He was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Allen.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Rozier Allen, of Blackshear; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rozanna and Bobby Russell and Laura and Jeremy Ballou, all of Blackshear; his mother, Margaret Jacobs Long, of Rincon; three sisters, Sheryl (Michael) Causey, of South Carolina, Betty (Frank) Colvert, of Mobile, Ala., and Sally (R.B.) Thomas, of Augusta; three brothers, Kenneth (Donna) Allen Jr., of Acworth, and Richard (Cindy) Allen and Joseph (Danna) Allen, all of Blackshear; his father-in-law, Franklin Rozier Sr., of Blackshear; four grandchildren, Ethan Teston, Jonathan Russell, Allee Russell and Mailey Ballou; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 at the St. Johns United Methodist Church.

Burial will be in the St. Johns Cemetery.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 9 at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
