Albert A. Affeldt, of East St., Wolcott, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Waterbury, yesterday morning after a brief illness.
Mr. Affeldt was born in Meriden, son of the late Joseph and Cecelia Veltz Affeldt and had lived in Wolcott for the past 25 years. He was a former judge of the town court in Wolcott, and a member of the Wolcott Fire Department, the Landowners Association, and of Billy Peterson Post 165, American Legion, having served with the U.S. Army in World War I. He was formerly employed at the Waterbury Democrat and at the time of his death was associated with Hemmingway Bartlett Co. in Waterbury.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Baldwin Affeldt, of Wolcott; three brothers, Joseph and Martin Affeldt of Meriden, and John Affeldt of Taunton, Mass.; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Monkmeyer of New Haven, and Mrs. George Asche, of Meriden; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday at 8:15 a.m. from the O'Donnell Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St., Waterbury, followed by a solemn high mass at St. Pius X Church, Wolcott at 9 o'clock. Burial will be in St. Boniface Cemetery, Meriden.
