Mrs. Connie JeanVaughn, age 63, of Palmyra, MO formerly of La Grange, MO passed away Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 8:50 p.m. in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton, MO.

She was born October 22, 1951 in Aberdeen, S.D. a daughter of Charles M. and Edna Jean Neitzel Rhodes. She married Perry D. Vaughn on June 29, 1969 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in La Grange. He died January 12, 2009.

Connie was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra. In earlier years she and her husband helped with T-Ball in La Grange and Connie served as a Girl Scout Leader. She and Perry enjoyed collecting coins and attending coin shows. She also collected music boxes and salt and peppershaker.

Survivors include her mother Edna Rhodes; one brother, Jim (Carol) Rhodes and one sister Cheryl Colliver all of Palmyra; two sisters in law, Evelyn Evans of La Grange and Alice (Russell) Davidson of Paloma, IL; brother in law, Alvin (Mary) Vaughn of La Grange; aunts, Dorothy Thurman, Rosemary Frey, Nina Rubemeyer and Susie Mortimer; nieces and nephews, Kim and Jeff Maple of Hannibal, MO, Cassidee and Bradley Wigle of Palmyra, Chad Colliver of St. Louis, Seth Colliver of Jefferson City, MO, Angela Burton of Quincy, Scott Evans of La Grange, Brad (Jennifer) Davidson of Quincy, Jimmy (Martha) Vaughn of La Grange, Michael Vaughn of Maywood, Gregory (Chris) Vaughn of Quincy, David (Gail) Vaughn of LaGrange, Jason (Ashleigh) Vaughn of La Grange and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church in Palmyra with Pastor David Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Durham Cemetery in Durham, MO. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Davis Funeral Home in La Grange.

The family suggests memorials be made to Northeast Missouri Humane Society, American Cancer Society or to the Society for the Blind.

Pallbearers: Seth Colliver, Chad Colliver, Jeff Maple, Bradley Wigel, Jason Vaughn, Greg Vaughn and Scott Evans.
