Helen Christine Smith was born in Cleveland, Ohio to William Jackson and Edna Ruth Steptoe-Jackson on April 04, 1938. She was briefly married to Marion David Smith, Sr.(they divorced after approximately 9 years).
That brief union produced four children: Christina Lynn Smith (deceased & buried at St. Mary's Cemetery in Sacramento, CA). Cynthia S. Smith,(Arizona) Marion David Smith, Jr.(living in her home) & Stephen Arthur Smith, Sr.(both residing in Sacramento, CA).
Helen worked for the Sacramento Unified School District for over 20 years.
Helen made the decision to relinquish responsibility of her two beautiful daughters when they were very young.

Helen devoted her life to traveling back and forth to Ohio to visit her long time love the widowed Dave Gordon(the love of her life for over 60 years) until his death. she also spent time each year in New York and in the Caribbean, living her life fully and completely until she became ill and could no longer travel.
It is ironic that her first born daughter, Christina Lynn Smith-Tubbs is buried in the same cemetery in close proximity.
