At the outbreak of the war Mr. Trumball, a graduate of Harvard Law School, was in the practice of his profession in New York City. At once he enlisted as a recruit in the famous Seventh Regiment of New York, with the purpose of following it to Washington. He received word that no more recruits would be needed there.
