While still in high school, he met his future wife, Marlene. They married on April 14, 1973 and together had seven children. Dan moved to Prescott in 2007 with his wife and youngest two daughters. He began teaching woodwork at Mountain Oak School shortly after and remained there until his death.
Danny is survived by his wife of 42 years; his mother Diane; daughters Lorrel, Shonda (Patrick), Erin, Kyla, Sara and Brenna; grandsons Bradley and Lukas; granddaughters Leah and Avery; brothers John (Laura), Joseph (Lynn); sisters Judy (Craig), Nancy (David); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Danny II; his father Jim; and mother-in-law Marjorie.
Danny was a teacher, an artist, a poet, a beloved father and tremendous husband and son who will be greatly missed.
Funeral home visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at the Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, 303 S. Cortez in Prescott. There will also be a public service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2015 at the First Christian Church, 1230 Willow Creek Road in Prescott.
