He married Marta Sue Trent, and to this union one daughter, Daphne Lynn, was born Aug, 16, 1974. He later married Mary Costello.
He worked at several jobs, including Sheldon Dairy, Alexander Trucking, Allison Tires, Stockton Nursing Home and last was at Dunbrooke Shirt Factory. He was saved at Pleasant Ridge Missionary Baptist Church when he was 12 years old. He was a hard worker, an honest man and a wonderful brother and friend. He enjoyed being with family and friends, and was a blessing to all.
Survivors include his daughter, Daphne Lynn Cox of Quapaw, Okla.; his mother, Willie Lee Cox of Nevada; two brothers, Russell Cox and family of El Dorado Springs and Elvin "Abe" Cox and wife Joyce of Nevada; two sisters, Marcile Hurshman of Nevada and Nelda Elaine Shaw and husband Myrle of El Dorado Springs; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Starla Lucas; and many other friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Chester Thomas Cox; and both sets of grandparents, Charles and Annie Cox and "Dude" and Ellen Pace.
Visitation was Saturday, Oct. 16. Final disposition was cremation. Arrangements were under the direction of Bland-Hackleman Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church of Christ food pantry.
