Dr. George Robert Baylis II, D.O., 38, of Pearland, Texas, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002. He was born Aug. 7, 1963, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor of science degree, and graduated from the University of Texas Medical School in Fort Worth, Texas, with a doctor of osteopathic degree. At the time of his death, he was director and a family practice physician at the Moody Health Center in the Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Order, the Christian Medical and Dental Association, and Sagemon Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Marcy Baylis of Pearland; a daughter, Abigail, of Pearland; his parents, George and Jerra Baylis of Houston; two sisters: Deborah Lilley of Sugarland, Texas, and Galynn Crow of Houston; four aunts: Robbye Rankin of Houston, Helen Odom of Norphlet, Carolyn S. Waller of Junction City and Irene Baker of El Dorado; three uncles: W.H. Armstrong of Smackover, Richard Armstrong of Minden, La., and Carl Armstrong of Louann; and his nieces and nephews, Nathan and Kristin Lilley of Sugarland, Texas, and Channing Cameron and Connor Crow of Houston.
Funeral services were held Aug. 5, 2002, at Sagemont Baptist Church in Houston with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Niday Funeral Home of Houston.—El Dorado News-Times [El Dorado, Arkansas], Aug. 10, 2002
