JAMES MONROE ABBOTT, son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Simpson) Abbott, grandson of Enos and Sarah (Farnum) Abbott, great-grandson of Jonathan and Ruth (Bragg) Abbott, and great-great-grandson of John and Hannah (Farnum) Abbott, all of Andover, Maine, was born in Andover, January 13, 1823, came to Norway, and January 7, 1849, married Sarah Jane, daughter of William W. and Sally (Lovejoy) Berry. He moved to Oxford, where his wife died April 10, 1885. Children : — I. Sarah E., b. December 19, 1849; d. January 4, 1850. II. Laura E., b. September 21, 1851. III. Charles O., b. November 18, 1852.
