Grandpa has led a good life and left us, April 6, 1993, for a better place with his wife and family, in Gods place, to rest in peace for eternity.

Grandpa was born August 25, 1906 in Muncie, Indiana, to George Chilton and Leota Roderick, had a sister and best friend, Harriet Chilton Kaigler. Later moved to Parowan, Utah as a young boy, after the death of his mother. His stepmother, Mayme Daughtery raised Homer to be the good man that he was.

He was loved by all that came in contact with him for his undaunted sense of humor that left you smiling for hours, for honesty that was undeniable, a straight forward manner that could never be misunderstood, a passion and compassion for life, that everyone admired. He was involved in sports most of his life. He was a professional boxer that never lost a fight. Held the East High school 60 yard dash record for years after he graduated, played AAA baseball until he was 37, won many awards as a champion roller skater. He skated until two knee replacements at age 76, and loved dancing so much that he was dancing two times a week on bad knees.

Grandpa married Lynette Adams in Parowan, Utah, June 16, 1926. They raised two sons, Robert Adams Chilton and Boyd Adams Chilton, all have passed on and are with him on the other side, leaving seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

We that loved and admired you grandpa will have kind and happy memories to carry us through the rest of our lives. Thank you grandpa.

Viewing will be Friday, April 9, 1993, 1 p.m., followed by services at 2 p.m. in the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City, Utah. Anyone that knew grandpa is welcome to speak. Contact Kevin before services start.
