Gary Miles
MORLEY, Mo. -- Gary Joe Miles, 75, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, died Thursday, July 16, 2015, at his home.
Born on May 11, 1940, in Morley, Missouri, he was the son of Harley and Virgie Houseman Miles.
A graduate of Morley High School in 1958, Gary joined the Navy. He served 20 years working in radar, retiring as a chief petty officer. He received three Good Conduct Medals and a navy achievement award.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy, of New Mexico; three stepchildren, Troy, Danielle and Michelle, all of Alamogordo; two brothers, Stephen and Jack Miles, both of Clinton, Missouri; three sisters, Darla (Arthur) Terry of Fremont, Missouri, Nancy Jones of Perkins, Missouri, and Kathy Cootney of Morehouse, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Sybil Jean Milam; a daughter, JoEllen Miles; and a nephew, Cam Milam.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield, with full military honors.
Hutchings Funeral Chapel in Marble Hill, Missouri, was in charge of arrangements.
