RIPLEY – Billie Faye Smith Bennett, 78, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2015, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born on April 28, 1937, to William Faulkner and Maybelle Patton Smith in Tippah County. She was a former employee of Ripley Drug Company in Ripley and a member of North Ripley Baptist Church. Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2015, in McBride Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Chris Lewellen and Minister Tom Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Tippah Memorial Garden. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, September 5, 2015, and from 7 a.m. until service time Sunday, September 6, 2015, at the funeral home. Mrs. Bennett is survived by one son, Mike Bennett (Janet) of Ripley; one daughter, Scottie Wilkerson (Burt Sr.) of Ripley; three grandchildren, Angie Bennett Winnett (Jeremy) of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; Patton Bennett of Ripley; Bennett Wilkerson of Ripley; one great-granddaughter, Coralyne Winnett of Goodlettsville, Tenn. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Hartman Bennett; her parents; one brother, Wayne Tate Smith.
