Shari Miller was bright, beautiful, caring, loving, and vibrant. She graduated top in her class at Culver City High School, a ranking member of her student body every year, and . . . she was only 21 when she fell victim to serial killer Bill Bradford.
Shari met Bradford at the "Meet Market" bar in Culver City, California. She shared with him her life long dream of becoming a model. Bradford convinced her, his skills as a photographer was her ticket to stardom.
Tragically, demonically, the only thing on his mind was her murder.
On July 4th, 1984, Bradford lured Shari to a remote location north of Los Angeles, where he took pictures of her, then strangled her with her boot lace.
Shari was found two days later, wrapped in a blanket, in an alley behind a carpet outlet store on Pico Blvd. in West Los Angeles (across from Rancho Park).
Due to no identification found on the body, Shari was listed as a "Jane Doe" #60.
Several days later, in the investigation of a missing neighbor of Bradford's - a fifteen year old by the name of Tracy Campbell - the police searched Bradford's apartment and found several photographs of the woman they had idetified as "Jane Doe # 60" several days earlier.
In the pictures, she (Shari) was posed against a seal-shaped rock formation, in a desert landscape.
On a tip, detectives scoured the desert north of Los Angeles (Antelope Valley) for the location.
When they found the rock background in a remote campsite, they found the body of fifteen year old Tracy Campbell nearby. Tracy's face was covered by a blouse that belonged to Shari.
In 1987, Bill Bradford was tried and convicted of the murders of Shari Miller, and Tracy Campbell. He was sentence to death.
It is believed, with a recent police investigation, that Bill Bradford may be responsible for the disappearance and murders of dozens of women, across the United States.
