He started flight instructor programs and safety classes at Lehigh Valley International Airport (LVIA) and in 1973 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) cited the office as the best in the nation. He worked as an administrator for the FAA for 47 years and was the chief of the FAA district office at LVIA when he retired in 1989.
