Minnie L. (Sheets) Cooper, widow of Lester L. Cooper of Joplin, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church located at 600 E. 50th Street, Joplin, with funeral services beginning at 2:30 p.m. Interment will follow in Muncie Chapel Cemetery at Wheaton, MO. Flowers will be accepted and memorials may be made to your local SPCA (Animal Shelter).

Ms. Minnie was born on May 28, 1925 in Jerico Springs, Missouri. She was the daughter of Emma Heiston Wolfenbarger Coulter and Ledford Wolfenbarger. She was employed as a Buyer for the Ladies Department at the Palace Clothing Company in Pittsburg, Kansas before moving to Joplin, Missouri in 1966. She was a Beauty Consultant for Charles of the Ritz Cosmetics in Joplin, Missouri before retiring in 1976. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Red Hat Society. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a dear friend to those she loved.

She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Sheets Mussat and husband Bob of Summerville, South Carolina; stepdaughter, Joy Tichenor and husband Ed of Abilene, Texas; stepson, Bill Cooper and wife Ruth of Wheaton, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; and nephew, Junior Schonweather and wife Nancy of Nevada, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William F. (John, SR.) Sheets; her husband, Lester L. Cooper; her son, John (Ralph) Sheets; her granddaughter, Jolene Sheets; five brothers and four sisters.
