Born Sept. 23, 1932, at Newport, Arkansas, the son of Cody and Velva Rollins Shirley and was a member of the Jonesboro Worship Center.
Mr. Shirley was a chief master sergeant in the U.S. Air Force for 25 years and was a member of the Jonesboro Chapter American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bryant Shirley of the home; two daughters, Susan Hayes and husband Robert of Yorktown, Va., and Sherry Bryant of Jonesboro; four sons, Kevin Shirley, Randy Bryant, Barry Bryant and Scotty Bryant, all of Jonesboro; and a brother, Dale Shirley of Southaven, Miss. Mr. Shirley also leaves six grand-children, and four great-grand-children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marcus Neil Shirley.
Memorial services were held at the Jonesboro Worship Center, Jonesboro. Faith Funeral Service of Manila was in charge of arrangements.
