George McCabe owned McCabe Hardware and was Petoskey’s Post Master. He married Miss Georgia McKinley at LaGrange, Illinois, December 26, 1906. She died in Petoskey on May 16, 1910.
On February 5, 1927, he married Miss Clara T. Galster of Petoskey who survived him. Mayor B. H. Van Louven asked that all business places of the city close from 8:45 a. m. to 10 a.m. Monday forenoon for the funeral service.
