ROMNEY, W. Va. - Mrs. Olivia Goldie Adams, 81, of Springfield, died yesterday at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md. Born June 22, 1898, in Springfield, she was a daughter of the late Elmer Wood Ansel and Virginia (Blue) Ansel. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Taylor Adams. She was a member of the Springfield United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women of the church and the Springfield Homemakers Club. Surviving are six sons, Elmer H. Adams, William "Andy" Adams, Kenneth Adams, Donald Adams, all of Springfield; Harold Adams, Cumberland; Floyd R. "Jack" Adams, Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Chaney, Mrs. Wilma Garland, Mrs. Pauline Hott, all of Springfield; Mrs. Faye Garland, Fort Ashby; 38 grandchildren and 50 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shaffer Funeral Home here. Services will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Springfield United Methodist Church with the Rev. Edward Van Fossen officiating. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
