Lucene M. Addleman of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on August 6, 2015 at the “Mac McGuire” Skilled Nursing Facility. She was born on June 8, 1920 in Riga, Michigan to Charles and Olah (Wotring) Betz.
Lucene is the beloved mother of eight children, Larry Addleman, Sharon (Chuck) Randall, Janice (Jonathan) Edwards, Jane (John) Wyllys, Nancy (David) McCarrell, John (Elaine) Addleman and Lynette Clay-Beverly; twenty-three grandchildren and forty great grandchildren.
She was preceded in passing by her parents; her husband, B. Dale Addleman; one son, Keith Addleman; one infant son, Gerald and one infant daughter, Joan; and one grandson, Andy Addleman.
Lucene was well traveled and enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening and reading. She was well known for her fried bars and homemade breads. She was a competitive game player and loved to laugh and spend time with family. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in North Adams.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale on Monday, August 10, 2015 beginning at 4:00 P.M. with Pastor Jonathan Edwards and Pastor Eric Sass officiating. Interment will follow at the Northlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
