Edward Haegle, son of Mr and Mrs Frank Haegle, who reside on Broadview Bench, was found dead in an automobile about a half-mile off highway # 10 on the Broadview road early Monday. His death was caused by carbon monoxide poisoning after he had attached a length of garden hose to the exhaust pipe and carried it into one of the rear windows of the car.
Mr Haegle had been in Terry Sunday evening and was found by his father and brother Monday morning after he had failed to return home Sunday night. He had left a note addressed to his wife in the car..............................................
While in Terry Sunday evening, Mr Haegle was in apparent good health. He had planned to begin work as a mechanic for Patterson & Turnbull garage on Monday. He left town about eight o'clock and his death occurred about two miles east of Terry.
Edward M Haegle was born at Adrian MN, on November 9, 1903. His parents later moved to the Broadview Bench country where he spent most of his youth. He was married in Terry by the Rev Gerrit Koyker on September 9, 1934, to Miss Ethel Lausch of Plevna. Since his marriage, he has made his home at Fort Peck and in the state of WA, where he was employed, returning just recently to Terry.
Mr Haegle is survived by his parents and several brothers and sisters, in addition to his wife and two children.
