Eva Catherine Boessel, 76, Eva Catherine Boessel, 76, Wirt, loving wife and mother, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2006 at St. Mary's Medical Center, Duluth.

Eva was born May 10, 1929 to Louis and Eva (Holzmer) Thyen in Hobart, Ind. She was baptized and confirmed and lived her Catholic faith. She was united in marriage to Raymond Boessel on Aug. 30, 1947. They made their home in Hobart for the first few years, then moved to Monticello, Ind., until they moved on Aug. 25, 1966, to their present home outside of Wirt. Eva spent her younger years as a stay-at-home wife and mother. Later Eva was employed at the Bigfork Hospital for 10 years. She was a Sunshine lady for Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Bigfork. Eva spent time taking long walks with her beloved husband, watching the birds and wildlife in their yard, doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, playing scrabble, and reading. Our mom enjoyed doing all the things she did to nurture and care for our family; crocheting, sewing, knitting, canning, baking, picking berries, etc., just some of the things we appreciated her for. She had a green thumb that no one could match.

She is sadly missed by her husband, children and grandchildren. ?She is not gone, she is just away.?

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, brothers, Robert and Edward and sister, Anita.

She is survived by her husband Ray; children, Andrew, Wirt, Raymond Jr. (Christine), Bigfork, Jeanne (Marshall) Dahlin, La Crosse, Wis., Donna (David) Finnes, Granite Falls, Glenna (Merle) Franklin, Monon, Ind., Jennifer Dubois, Echo, and Louis (Paula) Boessel, Wirt; grandchildren, Jesse (Kristin) and Daniel Boessel, Leandra and Adam Dahlin, Ashley Finnes, Michael and Christopher Franklin, Steven and Bryce Dubois and Ann, Becky and Colton Boessel; her brother, John (Joan) Thyen; sister, Jane (James) Krause; sisters-in-law, Rosemary and Jeanne Thyen; three uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 4 at Our Lady of Snow Catholic Church, Bigfork. Burial was in Bigfork Cemetery, Bigfork.

Arrangements by Carroll Funeral Home, Deer River.
