Beloved husband of Carol, nee Voss. Loving father, grandfather, brother, loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Bill grew up in Berwyn, Illinois, son of Anna and James Blazek.
He graduated from Fenwick High School, St. Mary's College in Winona, Minnesota, and Marquette University School of Medicine in 1958, Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
He completed a residency at the University of Illinois, awarded a National Institute of Health Fellowship in Cardiology.
He served as Captain in the US Army at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Dr. Blazek was Chief of Cardiology at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
He educated generations of aspiring physicians at the University of Illinois, the University of Chicago, and the Chicago Medical School.
After retirement, he cared for the under served at Volunteers in Medicine Clinic on Hilton Head.
He was an active member of Our Lady of the Brook Parish in Northbrook and St. Francis by the Sea Parish on Hilton Head, Knights of Columbus member.
He will be remembered by family and countless friends for his kindness, compassion, and sense of humor, always supplying just the right joke for every occasion.

Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside, Illinois, Saturday, September 5 at noon, reception to follow.
