Sallie E. Lewis, age 95 of Lansing, MI, formerly of the Baptist Valley community of Cedar Bluff, VA died Sunday, August 30, 2015 at an adult assisted living facility. She was born October 11, 1919 at Pounding Mill, VA and was a daughter of the late Lawrence Amos Harrison and Catherine Susan Beavers Harrison. She was a retired LPN and a member of the West Lansing Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lewis; two sons, Eugene Lewis and Clarence William Lewis; four sisters, Madeline Harrison Perry, Roxie Johnson, Jeanette Hankins and June Whitt; one brother, Larry Amos Harrison.
Survivors include one son, Kelly Lewis of Potterville, MI; one sister, Fay Earls of Roanoke, VA; one brother, Harry B. Harrison of Cliffield, VA; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Sallie E. Lewis will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 5, 2015 at the Hurst – Scott Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, VA. Burial will follow at the Harrison Family Cemetery in Cliffield, VA. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 – 9 p.m. Friday, September 4, 2015.
