The following is an obituary for John Kneller, published in the Fort Wayne Journal Gazette, April 17, 1940:
Funeral services for John Kneller, 87, who died at 6:04 o'clock Tuesday morning at the home of his son, Herman Kneller of 1225 East Washington Boulevard, will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at Chalfant-Perry & Pook's Funeral Home, Dr. Paul F. Miller officiating. Burial will be in Eberhardt Cemetery in Whitley County. Friends may view the body at the funeral home after noon today.
The deceased was a retired farmer and was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Columbia City. Survivors include three sons, Frank of Whitley County and Herman and Edward of this city; two brothers, George and Dan Kneller of Whitley County; a sister, Mrs. Catherine Reedman [Redman] of Columbia City; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
