Billy Steven Summers, 49, of 376 Cleveland Street, Elberton, passed away Tuesday morning, April 3, 2012, at St. Mary's Hospice House.

Mr. Summers was born in Neo Shaw, Missouri, April 9, 1962, to the late Leonard Samuel Summers, Sr. and Sybil Cynthia Turner Summers. He was a painter and employed by Star Granite, Inc. as a sandblaster. Billy was a member of Flatwoods Pentecostal Holiness Church and attended Eliam United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish his memories are his niece, Katlyn Elizabeth Summers; fiancé, Karen Dixon Hayes and her children, Zachary and Miles Hayes, all of Elberton; siblings, Cynthia Patricia Balchin of Elberton, Brenda Dianne Ball of Timpton, Oklahoma, Linda Sue Bunch of Dallas, Texas, Kenneth Eugene Summers of Elberton, Keith Wayne Summers of Lincolnton, Bobby Vernon Summers of Nashville, Tennessee, and Leonard Samuel Summers, Jr. of Elberton; step-children, Katrina Childs, Kim Reynolds, Gary Scarborough, all of Elberton, Laura Fowler of Hartwell, Bryan Scarborough, and Julie Burton, both of Elberton; and several nieces and nephews.

The Summers family will receive friends from 7-9PM Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 3PM Thursday, April 5, in the Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Wes Privett and Phillip Hart officiating. Interment will follow in Elmhurst Cemetery with Leonard Summers, Patrick Adams, Bull Bailey, Emmit Balchin, Brad Burton, Gary Dixon, Danny Reynolds, and Nolan Strong serving as pallbearers. The Summers family is at the residence, 376 Cleveland Street, Elberton, and at their respective homes.

Expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, may be donations in his honor to T.J. & Friends Foundation, P.O. Box 6161, Elberton, Georgia 30635 and condolences may be sent to the family at www.berryfh.com.
