Annie May (Farrin) Gilbert, 93, passed away at Round Pond Green on the evening of August 28th with her loving family and caregivers at her side. She was born on December 5, 1921, to Afton and Annie May (Gamage) Farrin; the 8th of 12 children. She was raised in South Bristol where she graduated High school in 1939.

She married Clinton Gilbert of New Harbor in 1940, where they made their home and raised 3 children; Barry, Anne and Timothy. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother; a beautiful person inside and out and loved by all.

Always a hard dedicated worker, she held various jobs through the years; including seafood processing plants, Gosnold Arms, cleaning cottages and caregiving. She was a member of the Eastern Star, the Union Church, and volunteered in numerous community activities. She was always ready to knit mittens, dishcloths, cook, and assist in making balsam pillows and wreaths.

She loved gardening, yard work, feeding the birds, and spending time with friends and staff at "The Green". She enjoyed walking, eating out, scenic rides, puzzles and trips to Florida to visit her sister Ruth. Never refusing an invitation, she was always ready to go. Above all else, she loved her family, and treasured visits and gatherings, and was so excited to be able to attend her great granddaughter Olivia's wedding in June.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Clinton; infant daughter, Janie (twin to Tim); son, Barry; and siblings, Kenneth, Charlotte, Frank, Afton Jr, Robert, Margaret, Alva and David.

She is survived by her daughter, Anne Pinkham and her husband Chet; son, Tim Gilbert and his wife Deborah; grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Andrea Hall and her husband Les, Jarrod Pinkham and his wife Cheryl, Clinton Gilbert and his wife Nicole, Nicholas Gilbert, Carrie Campbell and her husband Robert, Todd Gilbert, and Lesa Smith and her husband Michael; great-grandchildren, Olivia Parlin and her husband James and his daughters Kylee and Lexi, Lindsey Smalley, Keaton, Maisy, and Jackson Gilbert, Haley Brown, Parker Gilbert, Logan Willey, Stephanie, Zachary and Emma Smith, Briana Carroll and daughter Aubree, and Sawyer and Gavin Pinkham; siblings, Ruth Bullock, Paul Farrin and his wife Pauline, and Ramon Farrin and his wife Glenda; sisters-in-law, Jean Alley and her husband Bill, and Arrolyn Gilbert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 4th at the Union Congregational Church in South Bristol. A reception will be held across the street immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to her home of nearly 5 years, Round Pond Green, 1410 State Route 32, Round Pond, Maine 04564; or to the Union Congregational Church, PO Box 59, South Bristol, Me. 04568.
