Married Grover "Goady" Alan Zink 13 Dec 1951LuHelen Zink, 93, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Grand Plains Skilled Nursing in Pratt. She was born on August 2, 1929 near Neola, Kansas to William Carl and Bertha Lillian (Hodson) Smith. LuHelen married Grover Alan Zink on December 13, 1951 in St. John. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2007.

LuHelen graduated from Turon High School in 1947. She was a homemaker, member of Turon Christian Community Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary and served as 7th District President from 1965-1966. She enjoyed genealogy, correspondence and was known as the local historian.

She is survived by her 3 sons, son in-law, brother, sister in-law, 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a large number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

LuHelen is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jon B. Zink; daughter, Kathryn Z. Byrne; and brothers, Glynne and Grant Smith.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 6, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-7 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2023 at Larrison Mortuary, Pratt with Chris Clark presiding. Burial will follow at Neola Cemetery, Neola.
