Albert David Jenkins, age 66, passed away on Monday August 31, 2015 in Natchitoches, LA.

Visitation will be held at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches, LA on Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Friday September 4, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Blanchard St. Denis Funeral Home with Dr. John Foster officiating. Graveside services will be held at Beulah Cemetery in Marthaville, LA.

Albert was born in Coushatta, LA to A.J. and Vera Moore Jenkins on April 15, 1949. He served in the U.S. Army and retired in 1984. After retiring from the military he worked offshore as a safety technician and later with the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Cloutierville area. He was a member of Phoenix Masonic Lodge, and Natchitoches Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of Aloha Shrine in Honolulu, HI, Nakatosh Shrine Club of Natchitoches and El Karuba Shrine of Shreveport, LA. He was an active member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. He loved being a coach and was known as “Coach Al” through his involvement with Dixie Youth. He loved sports, grilling and spending time with his family and loved the Dallas Cowboys.

Albert is preceded in death by his father A. J. Jenkins; brothers, Dewell Jenkins and Jim Jenkins; and his sister, Dora Baker.

He is survived by his mother Vera McGehee of Marthaville, LA; his wife Faye Jenkins of Natchitoches, LA; daughter, Laurie Davis and her husband Eric Keel of Marthaville, LA; son Thomas Jenkins and his wife Melissa of Boise, ID; and two grandchildren, Autumn and Jameson. He is also survived by his brothers, Jack Jenkins and Andy Jenkins of Natchitoches, LA, and sisters, Judy Lilley of Belmont, LA, Carolyn McCarthy of Houston, TX, Sandra Vinz of Bossier City, LA and Bobbie Jenkins of Tyler, TX.

He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed by all.
