Charles G. Maffet, 47, of Canonsburg, RD 2, Peters Township, died Sunday, August 4, 1957, at 8:30 a.m., at his home, after a heart attack. He was born in Oceola Mills, March 2, 1910, the son of Thomas Wellman and Bessie Edith Pilkington Maffet. He was a former resident of Canonsburg, and had lived in Peters Township for 19 years. He was a machinist in Fort Pitt Bridge Works, Canonsburg, for 25 years, and was a member of Center Church, Canon Lodge 204, Knights of Pythias, and Dormont-Mt. Lebanon Sportsmen's Club. Surviving are his wife, Margaret Edge Maffet; and two children, Margaret Elizabeth, at home, and William Thompson, New Holland; and one grandchild. Friends will be received at W. Leonard Griffith Funeral Home, where services will be held Wednesday, August 7, at 2 p.m., in charge of Rev. Joseph H. Rodgers. Burial will be in Center Church Cemetery.
